4-5 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
450ml plain flour
3tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 200oc and line a large deep baking tray (300x400mm) with baking paper.
Whisk egg and sugar until white and fluffy (preferably using electric whisk).
Melt the butter, add the milk and bring to the boil.
Pour the milk and butter into the egg mixture.
Sieve in the dry ingredients and mix carefully.
Spread the mixture into the oven tray and put the apples evenly over the mixture, sprinkle with ground cinnamon and bake in the middle of the oven for 30-35minutes.
Check if the cake is baked by sticking a toothpick in it, if the toothpick comes out clean the cake is ready.
